Contact: Marc Vanden Bussche
Vice President / General Manager

You could say that irrigation is our Vice President's life. After all, he grew up with the company, and inherited its tradition from his grandfather, Gerard and his father, Roger Vanden Bussche.

Marc entered the family business in the spring of 1980. He quickly immersed himself into learning first hand about every aspect of the business, from customer service, shipping and receiving to repairs and assembly of equipment, deliveries and installation of irrigation systems.

Over the years, Marc's responsibilities grew and his role in the company became more challenging. He led the business down new avenues diversifying into drip/trickle irrigation and turf landscape irrigation and opening new branch locations in Scarborough and Milton, Ontario.

In 1995 he helped secure a contract with Pumpenwerk Röhren-und Bauer of Austria for the assembly of automatic hard nose irrigation Bauer travellers for the North American east coast. He traveled extensively throughout North America, Europe, China and Israel to successfully launch the company into the global market.

Today, as in the company's formative years, the customer comes first. Vanden Bussche Irrigation remains fully committed to providing a diverse complement of irrigation system design, consulting and leading edge, proven equipment. And they wrap it all up with good, old-fashioned service. Being a knowledgeable leader has always been a business priority, and Marc continues this tradition by partnering the company with many international manufacturers and by utilizing the latest design advances from around the globe.

The company also holds memberships with several trade associations and Marc himself has served on the board of directors of the Canadian Irrigation Association for several years, including one term as President.

Always eager to help people make the most of their irrigation systems, Marc served as one of the contributing editors of “Irrigation Management,” a 70 page publication produced by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture & Food and Agriculture Canada, and coordinated by the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.

This publication not only became a valuable resource, it also won the American Society of Agriculture Engineers (ASAE) Blue Ribbon Award.

To Marc, the business is like an important member of the family, and treats it with honor, respect and devotion. But this is no surprise considering his commitment to carry the vision of dedication first upheld by the company’s founders. A vision that Marc believes is not only a tribute to the past, but a key to the future of Vanden Bussche Irrigation.

Married since 1984, Marc and his wife Mary have two children. Their son Gerard was born in 1992 and daughter Gillian was born in 1993.
